I have a question, how is possible the comunication beetwen a S7 400 with a CP 443-1 and a  S7 1200 with a CP 1243-1?

I've tried to configure an ISO_on_TCP comunication beetwen s7 400 and 1200 but without success.

In the net i've found some manul but only for a telecontrol.

Do you have any experience about it?

maybe little hint, everything in this area is about amount of data needed Exchange between both systems. Look pls to (somewhere hope in this conference is link) CPU-CPU communication manual where are possibilities for communication due HW cfg.

I'm sorry for my delay, but i was travelling.

The card installed on the 1200 CPU, is:

6GK7243-1BX30-0XE0 COMMUNICATIONS PROCESSOR CP 1243-1 FOR CONNECTING SIMATIC S7-1200 TO TELECONTROL SERVER BASIC VIA ETHERNET ALSO SUITED FOR SAFE COMMUNICATION WITH NETWORK WITH FIREWALL AND VPN.

Instead that one mentioned from Towome is:

6GK7243-1HX30-0XE0 COMMUNICATION PROCESSOR CP 1243-1 PCC FOR CONNECTION OF SIMATIC S7-1200 TO PLANT CLOUD SERVICES VIA ETHERNET.

However for no one of 1243-1 CPs, is mentioned if the ISO_on_TCP protocol is supported.

Now the original configuration between CP 443-1 and CP 1243-1 was ISO_on_TCP, but i've not been able to comunicate with it through that CP.

My question is if i need to change the comunication protocol, or exist some bug in the configuration.

simple question, why you don't use 1200's Profinet port for this situation?

Because i'm responsable of the S7-400, the S7-1200 is part of a new package and is not under my responsability.

The Provider has reserved the onboard profinet port for another scope with another IP address class, and he don't want mix both net, that's why he has installed a new card for the comunication with the s7-400.

Try check select S7 communication possibilities (also consult this to your partner working on S7-1200). Then you both can discuss about amount of data you can share via DB/Memory. Probably I se only this solution.

Yes probably the S7 comunication is the only way. Anyway the exchange data are not to much, more or less 20 byte.

yes, simply I see some reason from your partner (S7-1200) to incorporate that CP for this situation, or?  You can ask him, why they make this solution. Sry, simply I'm giving idea due your momentary situation. Check that if it can be solved and give us info, very important. Good luck.
