Configuration of the 095-8MExx as DP Master

NICHOL Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I have a question about the configuration of 095-8MEXX. Should I download the configuration to CPU memory or to the EEPROM after I configurate the ET200U slaves use COMPROFIBUS? Someone told me that I can only download the configuration to the CPU.If this,when the battery fail and the power is switched off, the configuration will lost. Can someone answer the question? Thanks!

This is what I got from the document (link below). But I am sure that the CPU 6ES5095-8ME03 can be the DP master station to connect the ET200Us.Because there are 5types of CPU about the series of 95U and every type has different interface.I know only the 095-8MDxx can be the DP Slave.Could you find the introduction about how to use the interface of 095-8ME03? Thanks a lot!

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 10/13/2024 Posts: 3024 Rating: (1054)	Hello NICHOL NICHOL Should I download the configuration to CPU memory or to the EEPROM after I configurate the ET200U slaves use COMPROFIBUS? You must and can only download it to the 32Kbyte EEPROM which is mandatory to have if you use the 095-8MExx as a DP Master(12Kbyte of the EEPROM is reserved for the DP master config file). Note that a small entry in DB1 is also required to enable DP Master functionality. As for the manual and hopefully everythig else there is to know please grab a copy of the ET 200 Distributed I/O System manual (see chapter 9 and 10 as per THIS link). I hope this helps
