Configure a "Process Controlled Tag" from a VBA function

Hi,

I'm working on a WinCC project with "process controlled tags", where all the tags will be imported from a CSV file through a VBA function.

The problem comes when configuring through VBA de settings of the "process controlled tags".
Right now I'm using HMIGO objects, the "CreateTlgTag" function and its properties. Using them I have defined the name of the tag, the "Raw Data Tag" where it comes from and the conversion DLL, but I cannot find a "CreateTlgTag" property to define an "AR_ID" and a "AR_ID-subnumber" (I have several tags coming from the same Raw Data Tag and I need these parameters to separate them)

Do you know if there is any way to define these settings?

At the end of yesterday's afternoon I saw what you just explained about storing the variable name as a "TlgTagAliasName" and the "TlgTagAliasName" and "AR_ID" on the "TlgTagName".

The problem however, is that "CreateTlgTag" function does not allow "#" as a part of the "TlgTagName", so I cannot use a concatenated string as:

" #<Raw_Tag_DM_Name>#A#<AR_ID>#<AR_ID-Subnumber> "

I also tried creating the tlgtag with another name and then modifying it later, but "TlgTagName" does not allow writing once the tlgtag has been created.


Actually, the only way to do the job I could find was accessing directly the SQL database and writing directly the " #<Raw_Tag_DM_Name>#A#<AR_ID>#<AR_ID-Subnumber>" string on the field "VARNAME", but I rather prefer not to manipulate directly the database without using Simatic functions

Do you think there is another way to do so, or I will have to give up and create a script to access the database and modify this "VARNAME" field?
