configure the OPC server as a PC station from Step 7 v5.5 SP3

Suvajitb1 Advanced Member Joined: 11/20/2013 Last visit: 10/20/2024 Posts: 25 Rating: (1)	Hello experts, I have Step 7 v5.5 SP3 on my ES and Simatic net DVD v12 for my OPC server. Can I configure the server as a PC station from Step 7 v5.5 SP3? I mean the closest option for me is to chose the OPC server version 8.2 from the catalogue of hardware configure for the PC Station (the OPC server) which is for Simatic net v8.2. What should I do if this configuration do not work? Thanks in advance. ---------------- New subject after splitting from OPC communication.

It means making the link between your PC and PLC not in STEP 7 V5.5, but SIMATIC NCM PC V12. SIMATIC NCM PC V12 is installed if a TIA Portal version of STEP 7 is not installed on the computer which you wish to install SIMATIC NET V12.
