Hello tyro A Profibus DP Slave device MUST have a corresponding GSD file (it does not make sense for anyone to develop aProfibus DP Slave device without an associated GSD file as you can not configure it then and as such can not use the DP Slave). Having said that, a CP342-5 from Siemens is in general a "Profibus device". One usecase for itis as a DP Slave (in which case you need its GSD file which is available). Another usecase for it is for so called FDL (Fieldbus Data Link) communication in which case it is NOT a DP Slave and you do NOT need a GSD file for it. So the question is: Is your "Profibus Device" a DP Slave? If it is the supplier/manufacturer will have to give you a GSD file for it. If it isn't, I suggest to get hold off the manual and see what it supports (e.g. FDL or FMS etc.) I hope this helps |
