Dear all, on our we are trying to implement redundant communication between our water treatment plant and remote pumping station (pdf file attached). Siemens suggested that we could use mobile network for such task. Idea is that in normal situation we will use multimode fiber optical cable ( buried in ground between two stations ) and Scalance X204-2. We implement that and it is working fine. Now we are trying to provide second way of communication by using UMTS router M875-5 and Scalance S612. Redundancy channel over internet by mobile network. Please check the pdf file attached with this post. I have read all the documents regarding secure remote access to PLC with this equipment. There are guidelines to implement this and examples how to implement such functionality. But, this requires changes in PLC hardware configuration such as gateway settings for PLC Ethernet interface. If I want to use UMTS router M875-5 I must check use router check box and provide router adress. By doing this I am afraid that my ethernet connection over fiber optic will stop working. I must choose between two ways of communication. If I choose to communicate over fiber optic ethernet ( X204-2 <------> X204-2 ), I must deactivate in hardware configuration use router check box. And, if that communication fails, I must go on site and then make hardware changes to use umts router. I am trying to find way to keep both ways "alive" for communication. Is there any way to do this? Please help AttachmentRedundant communication.pdf (91 Downloads) |
