A Basic Panel 1st Generation (like yours) is not able to use a SmartServer or something else.

So you can use another HMI than is able to do that, or you use for example own html pages on the S71200 webserver:

 A1: Of yourse you can use a WInCC Advanced Runtime instead a Basic Panel also with a normal Ethernet card. But then you can also use a Comfort PAnels 10" ...

A2: The distance of Profintet/Ethernet has nothing to do with the HMI.  if the Distance is to big then use a repeater or a Switch in the middle

A3: you can select the HMI - rightclick -> Change Device Version

if the new HMI has another resolution then you should also make settings for changiing the Screens first.

Options-> settings-> visualisation -> resize Screen

(But do this setting before changing the HMI Device)
