Configuring S120 Drive in TIA Portal V14

Bwilliams Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi all. I have a machine here with a 1200 CPU and an S120 drive with a CU-320-2 PN. The machine was built in another country and imported. Machine runs ok most of the time, however it will randomly issue a "Main Controller Fault" on the HMI and fail to run until machine power is cycled. I initiated a connection with TIA V14, which shows me a demand maintenance error on the profibus of the drive stating "No diagnostics data available because the current online configuration data differs from the offline configuration data". My question is - I can't seem to find the correct TIA support package for the S120 so i can upload the configuration from the drive and update the project file. So far i have tried DriveLib V50 (https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109475044) with no luck. I have downloaded Starter V4.5 and managed to go online with the drive ok. Is there a way i can update the TIA project with the drive parameters uploaded from starter? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. Ben Attachment Drive.JPG (891 Downloads)

For Startdrive (Drive addon for TIA) only Sinamics G availabel and the S120 option not for general use. In TIA no Drive Parameters saved or loaded to the device, check the HWCN the S120 is configured with GSD file i think. Regards Christoph

Yes i figured this may be the issue as when i was researching on the forums i found that people were having an issue with S120 since TIA V12. I thought there may be a solution by now in V14. I have done some research on HWCN and i am unable to find any literature on modifying or updating the GSD file for the drive. The only issue i still have is that it is still giving me warnings that the online and offline data is not the same. Is there a way to somehow update either online or offline? I can't even seem to find a way to compare the two to see what the differences are. Can i even use Starter to update either online or offline data somehow? Is the firmware in the drive a firmware 4.7, too? You can check this when going online with Starter and reading Parameter r18 of the Control Unit. Maybe there is a difference. Otherwise I would suggest to create a request at the Customer Support.

I did update my tia portal and tried so many time but there is not showing any s120 . and if I am trying to open directly sample project which downloaded from Siemens support then that is showing a warning me .can you guide me. Did you download the GSD/GSDML for TIA Portal? V14 TIA Portal needs a separate configuration file for S120 drive.

This Package can't be downloaded because is not general released for customers! In Startdrive V15 the Sinamics S is integrated an can be used without any additional Package! Regards Christoph
