Hi all

I want to connect  IM153-4PN to CPU315  2PN/DP for the first time.

I have TIA 13 SP1 update 9. I configured  IM153-4PN in my project and set IP  for it in TIA portal.

for the first  step:

1-  how can I set IP address for IM153-4PN

in Profibus network we adjust address of ET200M with DIP Switches.in Profinet how can set IP for IM153-4PN

It is the IO controller that is charged with setting the IO device's Profinet address, once the IO controller has been configured with its IP address and Profinet name.

After the IM 153-4 has been inserted in the Profinet network configuration, and once the IO controller has been restarted, it will receive its IP address from the controller; you also have to configure its Profinet name at this point.

Thanks so much. but your answer is not  very clear.  I don't understand what should I do.

 You can manually assign the profinet Name to the device. When the name is assigned, the IP is automatically assigned.

The controller doesn't automatically assign the names and IP's, if there is a non Profinet ethernet switch between the PLC and the field device. To automatically assign the PN name and IP, Topology needs to be defined.
