CONNECT MAG5000 TO PLC S7 1500

CamachoDaniel_92 Posts: 5 Rating: (1)	Hi guys! I have a SITRANS F M MAGFLO MAG 5000 and I need to control a proportional valve using a s7 1500. I've been reading every manual and tech data but I can figure out how to connect the flow transmitter to the plc. I see there is a current output in the transmitter but I can'f find if I can use it and plug it into an analoga input of my plc. Do I need a comunication module to connect the transmitter to the plc? danw Gold Expert Joined: 3/28/2010 Last visit: 12/24/2024 Posts: 1099 Rating: (216)	I seem to recall that the 4-20mA output is disabled by default on the Mag5000 and needs to be enabled in the configuration/setup. I believe the 4-20mA output automatically scales itself from zero to Q max, but it's been awhile since I messed with one. The Mag5000 has an active 4-20mA output and does not need a DC power supply in the circuit, the Mag5000 provides the power to the 4-20mA output. You need to scale the analog input on the PLC the same as the range on the Mag5000.
