i have a siemens cpu 1214 and a ktp400

in tia portal i connected them together in the topology view and in the network view, and in real they are also connected together. If i want to change something in my plc i disconnect the cable from my hmi and  put it in my laptop and i can program my plc. otherwise also if i want to change something on my hmi i disconnect the cable from my plc and i put it in my laptop and i can program my hmi

sometimes this is not so 'handy'  especially if i want to monitor a issue,  so i though i connect them both to my router at home and i can acces them simultaneously. but this is not working.  i can find them (see attachment)  (note the ip adress is in purple) but i can not monitor or upload. but there are so many possibilities and settings available for this, i don't know where to start, 

with my siemens s7-300 'it doesnt matter how i do it, it just goes"  

has anyone tips for me about how and where to start

you want to connect your PLC over WLAN, is this correct?

You need a few ports which are must open for the communication.
Please look at this document Which ports are used....

The easiest way is you connect your PLC over a switch.

that ip range..  am i correct..

router ip adress is 192.168.2.254        if i log on to my router i see a lot of addresses from the devices that are making a connection to it, all with the adresses 192.168.2.XXX

my plc ip adress is 192.168.0.2  so i have to change it to 192.168.2.2 .  that zero has to become a 2

i noticed that there are several ways to set an ip adress in my plc. but what is the best way to change it 

that tip of "ports has to be open for communication" it says nothing

yes you are correct.

go to PLC Properties and set ip adress(see picture). 

You should set it outside the range your router uses as dhcp.

Or you could change the router to suit the PLC, if other devices connected to router use dhcp.

in my opinion you should configure at your PLC and the HMI  a router.

You can find it at the configuration of your IP-address (use a router, gateway).

i connected the ethernet cable straight between my laptop and plc so  without the router just to set the ip adress of my plc to  192.168.2.30 and and later to 192.168.2.80 

 i also went online to see that the ip adress was set correctly (see attachment) from this i conclude that the ip change went succesfully,

also in the menu (of which you sent me a screenshot frank)  i set the ip adress to the new ip adress 

i was not finished 

but as soon as i try to download to the device, i get errors  ( see attachement) first thing i notice is the ip adress is in purple background,   more to the bottom the sentences by the red arrow continues with: " the connection partner is not responding"

i must say that i don't for sure if the attachment is from downloading hardware configuration or an fb  to the plc but i know i tried both

and as soon as i set the ip adres back to 192.168.0.30  i can download again without any problems

what can this be
