Hello; Using a IM 308C interface module in your S5 rack you could use the existing S5 I/O as a ET 200U station on Profibus, allowing the s7-400 as a Profibus-DP master to read and write to these S5 modules: ET 200U Distributed I/O station manual: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/1142468 Open chapter 6 for details on the IM 308C as a DP slave. And here is a sample project you can use as a guide: How do you operate a S7 (with IM 308C) as a DP slave on the Profibus-DP when the DP master is an S7-300/400? https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/6556876You would need a copy of COM Profibus software to setup the ET 200U station. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier Note: the S5 family of PLCs has been discontinued since 2000 (at the latest), there is no more production of these units, and spare parts were maintained only until 2010. The search for new or replacement modules will have to go through resellers or on E-Bay. D.C. |
