Can you ping the IP address of the Simotion controller your are trying to access? Simotion has a build-in web server. Can you access that from web browser? |

The next thing is to check programing device settings (PG/PC) in NetPro (attached picture). The Scout project needs to know which port on Simotion controller, IP Address and Ethernet card in the PG/PC is used to connect to the Simotion controller to figure out the appropriate routing. Also, take a look at this FAQ for connecting to Simotion via a Scalance router for additional help on settings. |

The setting should be right because when I use the project on our internal network , it works ,connection is ok .it must be something specific to using a VPN connection. We checked the document on the faq : https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=26662448&caller=view and opened the proper ports and allowed for the various protocols |

Is the Simotion controller setup in the project to send the response back to the router gateway? |
