Connect to Sinumerik/Sinamics in 840D SL with STARTER

Dear Expert,

Machine 10 axes HMC, configuration as below.

• 840D SL - NCU 720.3 PN 6FC5372-0AA30-0AB0 , PLC 317-3 PN/DP CNC-SW 31-3,Sin.OP, 4.7SP3
• SINAMICS NUMERIC CONTR.EXTENSION NX15.3 6SL3040-1NB00-0AA0
  
• SINAMICS drives

The machine is commissioned 6 months back & would like to take back up of Sinamics drives parameter via Starter. (I know it can be taken via START UP archieve.)

I refered the related posts

but not able to communicate with Sinamics drives with Starter & take a back up.

I am able to go on line with PLC with ethernet & laptop so I donot think it is problem of cable or laptop settings.

I have STARTER V4.5.1.0. Checked devices installed & found NCU list. NCU version is 4.07.35.84 where as machine NCU version is 4.07.04 (Photo attached)

So my question is do I need to upgrade my STARTER software or missing something in STARTER  communication setting parameters?

Which settings you have for the connection to Sinamics integrated?

the version of Starter looks OK.

Thank you very much for your reply. Since I was out of station delay in reply.

I am connecting my Laptop with Sinumerik 840D SL NCU port ethernet port X127.

In accessible nodes following are displayed -

• 840d sl NCU address 192.168.214.1, 
• TCU1 192.168.214.10, 
• TCU2 192.168.214.12, 
• MCP 192.168.214.11

To NCU 6 nos Sinamics S120 drives & to NX15 model 4 nos Sinamics S120 drives are connected.

• 6SL3120-1TE28-5AA3 85 Amp SMM       .... 1 no.
  
• 6SL3120-1TE23-0AC0 30 Amp SMM       ....  8 nos.
  
• 6SL3120-2TE21-8AC0 18/18 Amp DMM  .... 1 nos.
  

NCU 720.3 PN has integrated SINAMICS CU which is inetrnally connected via PROFIBUS system, refere attached snap shot.

is the HWConfig loaded to the PLC?

normally in front of the NCU in the accessible nodes there should a arrow to navigate to the sunbet and the integrated .

only other, what about over PB if they are attached to this bus? I think if you have PG you can try this connection. Pls post info pls...

Update: over MPI you can also connect to CPU but if routing is possible, don't know, same as for over ETH/PN.
