bdimitrijevic Advanced Member Joined: 12/2/2010 Last visit: 3/18/2025 Posts: 34 Rating: (0)	Hello, At the moment I'm trying to connect to MySQL Database via ODBC connector(64bit). Database is installed, ODBC is configured and connection is sucessfull when it's tested from ODBC. When I try to do it from script I get error that datasource is unspecified or something like that. Then I installed 32-bit ODBC and got some other error that I can't remember. Above connections are user DNS. After that i created DSN file and now I'm getting error: Unable to create file buffer. All other examples that I have seen are with MSSQL database. Is it even possible to connect to MySQL?

Stefan Arcularius Platinum Expert Joined: 1/21/2013 Last visit: 4/25/2025 Posts: 3775 Rating: (593)	Hi bdimitrijevic, ODBC drivers for Microsoft SQL Server version 17.9 and for SQLite 3 are installed on Unified Comfort Panels. The ODBC driver for Microsoft SQL Server is installed when WinCC Unified PC Runtime is installed. Therefore, these database types are tested and officially supported. This does not necessarily mean that other databases are not possible, but it will require more effort. However, to be honest, I would not be able to provide any help without starting a test myself. Maybe there is another volunteer out there who already has some experience with this. Kind regards Stefan

AutoGen_7692342 Joined: 8/17/2023 Last visit: 4/3/2025 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello, I don't know if it might be of any help but in my case I had issues connecting with MariaDM ODBC (which I think is using MySQL Server). I had to install the MariaDB Connector and it only worked with the 32 bit version. For referance will post the connection string I am using and is currently working with MariaDB ODBC 3.1 Driver. connString = "DRIVER={MariaDB ODBC 3.1 Driver};SERVER=localhost;UID=User;PWD=Password;DATABASE=Database;TCPIP=1;PORT=3306;" I hope that helps in a way :)
