Connecting 7SJ622 relay with Laptop/PC

vinaymaithani Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello Team members I would like to connect SIPROTECH relay 7SJ622 to laptop. The MLFB number is7SJ622 54EB001FE0. I dont know the version number of the relay. vinaymaithani Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Thanks Mike I already have USB to Serial Cable U1110 from Moxa.com and its driver installed successfully. I have DIGSI 4.83 version also installed. I tried to connect using front port but the error message is displayed to check for cable connection or to do device initialization or to check serial cable settings about parity & stuff. I can attach screenshot and provide MLFB num in case it is required. I dont wanna initialise because i dont want to lose parameter settings inside the relay and i dont have the back up for it as well. Please help Regards Vinay

I too am having the same problem with connecting to a 7SJ602, 7SJ61 & 7UT61. I have changed the port settings of the cable (COM3) to match the relay (COM3) but no luck. Thank you. RJ

The "default configuration" from a new project from Digsi is the same project you have on the device. So you don't need plug&play. Plug&Play has to be done only if you don't have the backup. If the device is using protocols like IEC61850 you can do plug & play, but you cannot change the configuration, only adjust settings such as protection parameters. Some other information from the device cannot be retrieved using Plug&Play, like long texts and commentaries from CFC. So I recommend keeping and using the Backup, instead relying on Plug&Play. I am using a cross cable as well (U1110 from Moxa) Some information on settings and systems i am using: OS : Windows 7 Enterprise DIGSI : 4.83 SIPROTECH : 7SJ622 MLFB : 7SJ6225-5EB003FEO Firmware : FIRMWARE V04.64.01 Interface cable: U1110 specs above in hyperlink I am trying to connect via Direct connection using PC interface COM1 and frame '8E1' setting. I have tried to connect at 9600bps using flow control 'None' and also at 38400bps(which is indicated in the relay. Hope this info helps you to troubleshoot my problem. Regards Vinay

Ijano Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi, Same problem here, but using Digsi 4.88 and the relay is the 7UM621 v4.63. I went trough the same steps of verification except I tried the initialize command, without success. (see attachment of the message) Tried other serials adapters also. Any clue? Thank you.
