connecting a et200m to my project

eeeehm not all screenshots about cfg what I expected (missing Master cfg settings -> mode, speed,...). Very sry but your cable isn't properly done, pls be better in building that cable with clear connection also of shield which is important (your look not good wired). I think in my opinion from picture of cable, righ connector plug to Master PLC and left (bottom in picture) to ET200M Slave. Pls don't put another cfg problems/missunderstandings to us, stay at your first cfg of Master/Slave addresses Master can have DP address 2 and ET200 3 f.ex. Simply after some time from your previous cfg now you have 100 address (can't simply imagine reason of that value). Next investigation of your screenshot is some upload from S7 317 CPU text and also some not correct cfg in diagnostic buffer - not same???? Sry really I'm confused about your steps, pls create clear cfg and prior that set yourself addresses of Master and Slave (HW DIP switches). Compile HW cfg and download to CPU, without any FBs, DBs or other system blocks (maybe from some old prj???).

Update: pls again check carefully your HW order numbers and also firmware!!! if all is ok and same in HW cfg.

Sry just another hint,

from where (inside HW catalogue) did you pick that ET200M to your HW cfg? In my experience also this can be problem. Make screenshot of that place inside HW catalogue from where yoou pick that ET200M. Also next, what modules you have attached to ET200M?

first as a slave you had address 5 and now 100 have you moved the dip switches to get the address 100? From the plugs both the one to the Master and the one to the slave must be all 2 on the left A1-B1, in a plug you have the connection on the right. Try to make the cable shield a little better

In addition to what was said. 

Your parameters in HW config seem correct. If nothing is changed from pictures you assigned address 3 to the CPU and address 100 to the ET200M (check in ET200M manual the dip switch values, but it was previously explained in an above post). Have you set the dip switches correctly to your ET200M? 

If it is a ET200M make sure to power off and power on for the change of the dip switches to take effect. 

Now cable wise, for a speed of 1.5 Mb you should use at least 1 m of Profibus cable (if I remember correctly- to be sure check Profibus manual). If your CPU and ET200M are the only nodes than you must set the terminal resistors ON for both. 

Green/red cables must go in A1-B1 respectively of each connector. From your picture I think is going from A1-B1 to A2-B2 of the other connector. Also make proper shielding. 

That should be it.

no probl, simply in case of create some PB network I recommend start with clear HW cfg without any special HW cards, only Master and ET200M, then cfg and run. After success PB functionality you can add next modules which can then better alocate addresses and also you'll see changes in HW better as now if you have lot of problems. Don't hesitate post next questions, info.

yes,   it works now it was connection in cable and perhaps the sheilding.  the reason i changed to adress '100' is that i saw a project in which profibus et200m had adress 100. so i thought,  'it must be good'. 

the reason i used my et200m  from the start with a input module. is that i've red in a manual that a slave always need at least one  module. 

it's fascinating how fast the communication is, if i put in a lad diagram all inputs beside my et200m to outputs near the main cpu.  (I0.0 = Q0.0,, I0.1 = Q0.1 but than for all) and i drag a +24 volt over the inputs i see the outputs react to this instantly
