Dear all, I need to connect the analog output of an Allen Bradley Micrologix 1200 (from module 1762-OF4,see attachment) and need to connect it to an analog input of a 6ES7-331-7KF01-0AB0 module. It's a 4...20mA signal and it hasto go over multicable from the output card to input card(so not the same 24VDC supply for both plc's). Do I need to chose for 2 Wire transducer when setting up the analog input card, or 4-wire? Are there any other things where I have to pay attention for? thanks in advance, regards Attachment1762-OF4.pdf (468 Downloads) |

I would use the analog input in 4 wire mode. This mode expects the 'sensor' to be powered by an externalsource and not from the input module itself. The only thing to be careful of is the common mode voltagefor the analog input. Make sure that voltage from the (-) analog input to Mana is less than the allowable common mode voltage (I think 2.5V, check specification to be sure of this voltage). If the voltage exceeds this limit, you can tie Mana and the (-) input together to force the common mode to zero. |
