byronferrer Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	I am having problems connecting to a 414-3 pn/dp CPU via MPI/DP using a pc adapter usb (6ES7 972-0CB20-0XA0). I am running Simatic V5.5 including service pack 1. When I try to view accessible nodes, I get an id/address 'message' and no nodes are listed. I have been able to access an S7-300 and S7-400 (cpu 414-2 DP) with this set up with no problem. I am hoping for your next advice. Thank you

Best regards, Hristo Mihalev i didn't used ethernet connection before so this is my first time sir..it is possible to know the IP add using cmd and type "ipconfig/ipconfig /all"?i saw 2 lan port in the cpu 414-3 pn/dp. can you please advice me on how to connect using the ethernet connection? your response regarding this matter is highly appreciated. many thanks.

About ethernet - it is clear PG/PC Interface must be configured like TCP/IP (your netwrok card), isn't it? IP addresses of PLC and PC must matched. Around the ports on CPU must be a lable where is written MAC addresses? DO you see that? Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

About ethernet - it is clear PG/PC Interface must be configured like TCP/IP (your netwrok card), isn't it? IP addresses of PLC and PC must matched. byronferrer Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	thanks for your big help. i really appreciate it. for now i am going to read carefully the link that you gave before using it. right now i am only using vmware and installed win xp pro and simatic 7 v5.5 just to have access because as far as i know there is no simatic manager that compatible with my windows 7 home premium.am i right?

But I am on the same and 5.5 is working pretty good. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev
