connecting to danfoss

rob_bernardino Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	i have a question regarding interfacing between s7-300 and danfoss vlt fc301. how do i get the inverter to read the analog inputs? i know that i need to connect the output analog module of the plc to the analog input pins of the inverter (pins 53 and 54) but i can't find the parameters in the inverter to set analog as input. the other option i know of is profibus but i can't use it because i don't have the cable. btw, im trying to control motor speed relying only on analog inputs. thanks in advance!

UMENCHO Diamond Member Joined: 3/21/2006 Last visit: 7/26/2024 Posts: 10228 Rating: (1181)	Hello, There have two switches S201 and S202 (placed on the same card nearby pins 53 and 54) with them you can set either current or voltage 'modes' for AI (pins 53 and 54). If both switches are OFF means AI is voltage (0-10V). By default thye are OFF. If both are ON means AI is current (0/4-20mA). So, according to type of AO card in PLC you must assign corresponding AI in drive. For sure in drive manual will helps you. Find it in danfoss web page. best regards, Hristo Mihalev

rob_bernardino Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	tnx for the fast reply! is this the only way to make analog input as reference? i attached the wiring diagram for the potmeter. the pins used are 50, 53 and 55. i kind of get it that 53 will be the input from the analog output of the plc. 55 is i think 0 volts. 50 is the max value of the potmeter. if my analog output would range from 0 - 10v, that would mean i have to find a way to produce 10 volts and stick it to pin 50. am i correct? Im thinking of a voltage divider could work as my 10 volts. Attachment potmeter ref.jpg (184 Downloads)

rob_bernardino Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	yeah, i kinda understood that but my problem is how to tell the inverter to read the analog. i read the manual but i couldn't find how to set analog as reference. 6-** of their manual didn't tell me what parameters to set to tell the inverter that my input would be analog. =)

When you want to use a Analog output you will have to use pin 53 (+ signal) and pin 55 ( mass) Then you will have to change the par. 3.16 and 3.17 to 0 par. 3.13 can be changed to 1.
