Hello zakariabachiri, As far as I know this adapter is limited only for S7 200 Take a look this: Product data sheet 6ES7901-3DB30-0XA0 - Industry Mall - Siemens This adapter 6ES7 972-0CB20-0XA0issuitable for S7 200/300/400 The driver for PPI Multimaster adapter is included in Microwin Software.

Hi there. Tradisionally the S7-300 PLC uses MPI protocol to connect to the PC, whilst the S7-200 uses PPI protocol. You need a cable the right cable for the job. Only one programming cable handles both MPI and PPI. When using the design software you have to tell it which PLC you need to communicate with, what cable (many variants) you are using and what port (COMx / USB). Depending on your PLC you could also connect via Profibus (DP) or Profinet (PN). So if the S7-300 PLC has a "PN" in the name then it is possible to use a normal netwrok card to communicate through a network (ethernet) cable. Again the software ensures that the right protocol (language) is used. You question makes me believe you want to make a custom designed PC application talk to a PLC. That is possible too.
