Connecting together the S7-300 PLCs with MPI

Alidemir Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello, We have ten machines in our factory. The S7-300 PLCs are using atthe machines. (CPU 315-2 DP) TheDPsockets of PLC are using for inverter communication with PLC. MPIsockets isn't using. Now , wewant to use MPI sockets for communication betweenPLCs. Thus, wecanget thevalues from the machines.(The machine speed, start, stop,electic consumptioni.e.) Can we connect MPIs of PLC with profibus cable? and can we establish MPI network at the PLC's network? Otherwise, do you know other method for communicateS7-300 PLCs?

And there are using profibus cable and profibus connectors for the same. Ayman Elotaify Platinum Member Joined: 5/28/2008 Last visit: 3/24/2025 Posts: 4520 Rating: (843)	Dear Alidemir, Small addition to Hristo, You can use MPI communication for data exchange between CPUs and also for establishing communication with HMI panel. It means that you can have one operator panel which can communicate with several CPUs using MPI network. Hope it helps.
