Connecting two S7200 with a CP243-1 and Scalances X101?

Relay Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I have to connect two S7200 as they were just one plc (they both have almost identical programming), and changes in one would hit the other. They'll be separate by a couple of kms so two Scalances bridge are installed (to use fiberglass wire), and to connect them to the S7200, both CP243-1 are set. Is this possible or something more is needed? The most i could do was to communicate them in one direction, but changes in the server do not reach the client. Thank for your help, and sorry for my spelling

To connect both CP243-1, I configured one as a server and the other as a client, so the can share their status, but the server cannot transfert any info with the client, but the client do. Witch RJ45 should I use, crossover or direct?, I'm confussed about the "auto-crossover" function of the Scalances Again, thanks for your help and sorry for my spelling

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, well this sample should show some more: Micro Automation: Networking automation systems via Industrial Ethernet (MAS 14) The issue I see here is that the configured S7 Connection in the CP 243-1 is comparable with the single sided configured connection on S7-300 / S7-400. So if you want to exchange data both ways you will have to configure two connections. You need one connection to act as Server on both sides and one connection to act as Client on both sides. This way you have one way to request or to write data to the remote PLC and one way to get requested or written by the remote PLC. I hope this solves you question. Best regards J_Bell

Relay Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Thank you so much. So, is possible to configurate two different connections in a single CP243-1? I thought that creating a new connection with the ethernet wizard, would just modify the old connection, instead of making a new one actually. I'll give that a try.
