I had the next problem when I tried to make a Profibus connection between KTP1200 HMI ( 6AV2 123-2MA03-0AX0) and Step 7-1200 ( 6ES7215-1AG40-0XB0 ), regarding that the PLC is equipped with CM 1242-5 module ( profibus slave module ), but i had the next message in network tab "Select master, no master available" on the CM 1242-5 module.

and when i compiled the project i get the next message "Partner interface does not exist".

regarding that i activated the option in PLC protection setting to allow HMI to reach to PLC registers.

could you please help to know if  KTP1200 HMI ( 6AV2 123-2MA03-0AX0) can work as MASTER profibus? if yes, how can I do that?

hi,

when you want to establish a HMI-connection over Profibus, the CPU-interface needs to be a Master.

C1242-5 is a Profibus Slave Module. So a HMI-connection is not possible. you need the Profibus-Master module:

COMMUNICATION MODULE CM 1243-5

as is on CP 1243-5 Master module manual, only this module can make connection with OP (page 10): CP 1243-5 Profibus Master Module Manual
