You need prepare own logic but also big amount of data can be exchange. Other case is Modbus TCP. All depends to what data you want exchange between devices and how comm timeout. can play role here.

You have to check a box in the 1200 HW config to allow com via Get and Put (since StuxNet). And set up exchange between DB's. Then the I/O is available automatically to the master PLC. If this is just polling status updates, I would suggest using PUT from each of the 7 PLCs if you have access to their source code. Then you can update 7 DBs in the master PLC, one bit of which would likely be a watchdog bit that toggles every time a new PUT is executed. The master simply monitors this DB tag for each remote PLC to see they are running and communicating successfully. rus146 Hi! I think this is what you are looking for.
