Do u want to configure a hardware configuration or download a hardware configuration??? U can make Hardware configuration in the software itself but for downloading u need Communication Cable.. I think MPI is for downloading Program & configuration from ur PC to PLC for s7300/400 plc's.. More informations u provide, will give u a better answer... Regards, Nelliyan.G

If you have an ethernet interface on your PLC, you can set the IP to your IP range by going to your HW config, then choose PLC - Ethernet - Edit Ethernet Node. Do a browse, and your PLC should pop up. A new PLC shows up as 0.0.0.0. Now you can set an adress in your range, make sure it is the same as you have in your HW config. Now you should be able to download your program and HW config. Sometimes this can be a bit buggy, I think due to previous configs or something. I believe an other way is to download the program on a MMC, and inserting it in the PLC. But not 100% sure on that one. Ton
