Connection of redundant periphery to the S7-1500R/H

A redundant control system based on S7-1500R/H CPUs basically and exclusively uses a lower-level PROFINET IO master system on the MRP ring for the connection of the periphery. Therefore, the signal modules can only be used in the PROFINET IO devices like ET200MP or ET200SP.

A system-side handling of two signal modules as redundant module pair does not take place, however, a module library is available for this function:

The functions of the library are based on the evaluation of the "value status" of the respective signal modules. Basic modules can therefore not be used for this purpose, standard modules only for module-granular redundancy circuits. For channel-granular circuits high feature modules must be used.
