Connection of RJ45 Modular Outlet

manmeet Gold Member Joined: 1/3/2006 Last visit: 2/19/2024 Posts: 726 Rating: (71)	Hi, We are using RJ45 Modular Outlet (6GK1901-1BE00-0AA0). Now problem which Iam facing is how to connect this. Its clear how to connect the cable at Moudular side as shown in fig 06 overherebut its a mystery how the connection will be at other end of it, and thats where Iam struck. We are using Hybrid cable2x2 + 4x0.34 and RJ45 plug6GK1901-1BB10-2AA0. Regards Manmeet.

But somehow when I opened that link again I started reading it this time with opened eyes. 2nd review often gives you more insite to true story. First will get myself clear with terms being used in above mentioned link 10BASE-T is the IEEE standard that defines the requirement for sending information at 10 Mbps on unshielded twisted-pair cabling, and defines various aspects of running Ethernet on this cabling. Same is true for 100BASE-T but speed here is 100 Mbps. And both 10BASE-T/100 BASE-T uses 4 wire only. Pin 1 of RJ45 is Tx + --> Yellow Wire Pin 2 of RJ45 is Tx - --> Orange Wire Pin 3 of RJ45 is Rx + --> White Wire Pin 6 of RJ45 is Rx - --> Blue Wire For straight connections both side will have same color code combination. Cross connection can be made by swapping the send and receive pairs in a connector. Nicely shown over here http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/45148351 End of story Part-1 1000BASE-T (also called gigabit Ethernet) is the IEEE standard that defines the requirement for sending information at 1000 Mbps on unshielded twisted-pair cabling, and defines various aspects of running baseband Ethernet on this cabling Now this 1000Base-T uses 8 wires. You cant obtain 1GB connection using 4 wires, you need 8 wires. Pin 1 of RJ45 is D1 + --> White/Green Wire Pin 2 of RJ45 is D1 - --> Green Wire Pin 3 of RJ45 is D2 + --> White/Orange Wire Pin 6 of RJ45 is D2 - --> Orange Wire Pin 4 of RJ45 is D3 - --> White/Blue Wire Pin 5 of RJ45 is D3 + --> Blue Wire Pin 7 of RJ45 is D4 + --> White/Brown Wire Pin 8 of RJ45 is D4 - --> Brown Wire Again for straight connection both side will have same color combination and for cross connection you can see Table B-4 & Figure B-5 of http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/video/cds/cde/installation/guide/Connectors.pdf End of story Part-2 IE FC Cable-- Industrial Ethernet Fast Connect cable.
