connection termination during VAT session over Ethernet

Flip-poz Posts: 16 Rating: (1)	Hi, The following error occurred during a VAT session in S7. At first I can go online very easy and smooth, but after a variable time (1-120 seconds) a error box jumps up which says that the connection is terminated. I made a PrintScreen in attachment. The project contains 4 PLC’s which are connected with Profibus DP, and via one of those 4 a connection with Ethernet is established. Only the PLC where the Ethernet cable arrives gives this problem, the 3 other PLC’s act just fine during a VAT session. If I take the Field PG and go straight on the Profibus connection of the troubled PLC, the problem does not occur. I can’t find the error code explanation, there’s no help button, even online search didn’t give me any results. Can anybody explain me what’s wrong? Attachment fault.JPG (34 Downloads)

If the other PLC's in the project, connected via( profibus to the troublePLC via)the same profinet cable, don't generate the fault and work fast and reliable, why the assumption that the cable or connectors aren't ok? Also what is the distance from PG when you using ethernet connection? For more than 5 years this ethernet connection worked fine, there are connection with a longer distance that work also fine. So i don't think the destance is the issue. Anyway, the PG is connected via profinet to a router (20m), from there a 50m long cable runs to the PLC. From thereprofibus takes over. fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 6/9/2023 Posts: 2969 Rating: (1025)	Hello Flip-poz the top of your Error Window has the error number 33:53... which is listed on page 15 ofTHIS Step7 Error codes pdf. Not too sure if the explanation and asscoiated remedy will work though (I never had this problem before) and suggest you check what firmware version your CPU is and update it to the latest firmware anyhow. I hope this helps

Flip-poz Posts: 16 Rating: (1)	Thanks for the pdf file, very handy for future problems. But the problem code is 33:534... and can't be found in that pdf file. I can't enlarge the window so i don't read the entire code. The firmware was V2.0. Like you suggested, I've done an update to V2.6. The problem still exists.... Thanks for the advice, but it didn't work unfortunatily. Anyone else?

Flip-poz Posts: 16 Rating: (1)	The problem is still not solved. I do can read the full error code: 33:53414. I can't find the code in the error code list (version 1/2001) Somebody knows what the problem is, and how to solve it?
