connection to the simatic et200s (IM151-8 PN/DP CPU) through VPN tunnel

Vit Ulicny Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	Hello guys, I have problem with connection to the simatic et200s (IM151-8 PN/DP CPU) through VPN tunnel. For the VPN tunnel I use INSYS MOROS device. Machine is located in the factory outside of my office. I am able to set up the tunnel with no problems. I am able to acces the web server by typing 192.168.0.1 in my web browser. When I try to go online in the STEP 7 in does not work. See the attached error. Please do you have any ideas how to fix this? Thank you for you answers in advanced. Are you able to ping the IP address of the IM151-8 PN/DP CPU? What you have seleted in the Set PG/PC interface ? it should be TCP/IP -> If you have connected to VPN then You should able to Ping the CPU or other Device in the Same Network.

Please see the attached file, which proves that ping is ok. it is in czech language. there is also a log from VPN server. there might be also problem that on the PLC side I use 192.168.0.0 255.255.255.0 subnet and on the vpn server lan I use 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 subnet.

Hi Vit, it look like the VPN is ok. it is ok if the both the IP address is diffrent range if you can able to ping means all is ok. can you tell me who Ip address is 192.168.0.5 ? are you able to go online form the Step7 Please Checked what you have selected in the Set PG/PC Interface in Step 7 Side(Checked my prev. post)

Hi Vit, the Configuration is look like ok. also the Set PG/PC interface is also ok. just change the PG/PC interface to TCP/IP instead of TCP/IP (Auto) & then try out. if you have anything like PC on the PLC side Network then try to ping it & try to Access it. it has to be work as per this confiuration, as per my view if you able to ping then you can able to go Online form Step 7 Also.

Vit Ulicny Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	I really don't know why but setting PG/PC interface to TCP/IP instead of TCP/IP (auto) helped. It is working fine now. Do you know what exactly is the difference between these two settings, please? Thanks for you great help. Appreciate it a lot !!!
