I'm using TIA Portal V15.1 Upd4 for WinCC Advanced Runtime for programming Comfort Panels.

I have always used "absolute access" as a configuration for my tags, for backward compatibility reasons and for the convenience of using structured faceplates (ie with HMI UDT in the interface). Now I'm working on a project that doesn't require their use and, if necessary, I can define dedicated tag tables for that feature.

So I'm wondering what constraints are involved when we use this type of access mode (handling, linking, use in scripts, ecc.).

you don't need a seperate HMI UDT. you can use the PLC UDT directly if you add it to the library first.
