Continue-Flying mode With MDI Positioning

selim1212 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi everybody; I use s7-1200 plc and s110 driver on my project. There is a vertical axis and my servo traverse between two point. When I do it with traversing block and select continue-flying mode, everything is okay. But when I do it with MDI continuous mode it stop on the points for a while and after that goes to other point. How can I disappear these stops time on MDI mode? Or if it is not possible how can I transfer position data to traversing block from PLC?

Technology Team Platinum Expert Joined: 10/11/2006 Last visit: 10/11/2024 Posts: 5911 Rating: (809)	Hello, You can transfer the values for a traversing block with acyclic communicationusing the function block Sina_Para which is located in a library for Drives (EPOS): http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/68034568 Please look also on the description located on this page. If you are running your positioning in MDI with continous transfer then every change of MDIposition / MDI speed etc is directly used in the EPOS and your axis should work without stopping - but this depends on your selected values.

selim1212 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Yes it depends on my speed value. If I work with slow speed, it works without stopping. However when I increase the speed, it stops on every position. Why I can't do positioning like traversing block with MDI? Because of traversing block is limited and I want to work with MDI. MDI works like a traversing block row with "end(0)" If it access the target position, it stops here. Is there anyone who can change the working principle of MDI?

zako_ Gold Member Joined: 5/22/2012 Last visit: 3/24/2022 Posts: 895 Rating: (67)	... your axis is faster then your new setpoints from the PLC. You can do a trace of your setpoint form PLC (r2060[x]), and Positionsetpoint from the EPos r2665., EPos speed would be r2666.
