Hi,

I'm using 1500 PLC to control the motion of 3-axis cartesian system, and facing 1 major issue:

I'm using a block called "MC_MoveAbsolute" to move the motors to a specific position, the system works fine, but the system need to make a complete stop before start the next motion, which consumes extra time and make the system move slower.

I require to make the system start moving to the next step (new point) after it finishes 95% of the current set point distance or even, lets say; 50 mm before reach the current set point.

at this moment I'm using the "Done" bit in the block (wait to be true) to continue the program sequence and execute the next network.

Is there away to avoid complete stop and make the system move smoother and continuously?

 Hi,

for a single axis, use another instance of MC_MoveAbsolute, so that when you are at 95% of travelling path you can raise an Execute command on the other instance of MC_MoveAbsolute to the new target. Of course the previous is aborted (and not reached!) and the second command is executed.

If you want to do it on a different axis, you just need to give the command before the other axis has finished its job, of course.

Also to speed up you can check the Technology Object Standstill signal settings.
