For analog to digital conerter circuit inside the Ai card there is a hardware implementation to convert for example 0 to 4 mA to a digitized values.The hardware algorith maps 4 ma analog to 0 digital and 20mA analog to 27648.This value is set due to technical spec of manufacturer. Please note that the Digital to Analog converterinside AI convert this range of physical values to a WORD.In ALLEN BRADLEY controllers, the conversion is done from 0 t0 32767(0 t0 w#16#7FFF) and just one bit is reserved for error or sth(They also provide diagnostics data seperately).In HIMA as safety controller this conversion done from 0 to 700.
