Copy blocks from one project to another in TIA portal

glinglin Posts: 50 Rating: (6)	Thanks but when i try to open a new project when another is already open the program ask me to close the open one.So i fegure out somthing else.I save the blocks that i want to transfer to a library folder and from thear iinsert them to the new project.

Find the icon for TIA Portal V11, and double click it 2. Open project #1. 3. Find the icon for TIA Portal V11, and double click it 4. Open project #2. Now follow previous directions. You can actually drag from project 1 to project 2 and vice versa. You can copy PLC tags, DBs, FBs/FBs, OBs, and devices (with configuration intact). You however, cannot reliably copy a PLC/CPU between projects. This may be by design, or a mistake, or I'm simply doing it wrong.

C-3PO Bronze Member Joined: 5/30/2014 Last visit: 12/5/2023 Posts: 137 Rating: (17)	One note: this will work only if the both projects are the same version, otherwise copying will be disabled (even from lower to higher version won't work). Checked with TIA Portal 12, projects v11 & v12.
