Hi, I don't thing so, it will be possible to take the program when it is protected. If the protection is only set for Write protection, then you will be allowed to read the data from the CPU. Here is the attachment which shows the protection method used in one project

Dear Kumar, Udara want to make a backup of program to MMC which is not Required to do as it happends automatically. When you download a program to CPU,MMC auotmatically takes the Backup. Hence Copy is not required as said by Vithani. |

Hi Amit, Sorry for the wrong understanding. Actually what I though was, Udara wants to take a backup in another MMC card. So that only said the method to take backup is PC first and once he insert the new MMC he can download it in future.

But what if Udara wants to make sure that he has the latest actual DB values backed up on the MMC? In that case "Copy RAM to ROM" is actually quite useful and moreinfo on all things related to this can be found in the FAQ below: What is the effect of the STEP 7 function "Copy RAM to ROM"? @Udara: As for your orignal question, I'm afraid I can't tell you if "Copy RAM to ROM" will work when the PLC is password protected (never tried it and don't have a CPU handy right now to test it). I'd say simply give it a try (it either works or it doesn't) and let us know what the result is. I hope this helps |

You can read the MMC cards through Card Reader. I did that to take out GSD File from SINAMICS DC Master. But never tried with S7 CPU MMC Cards |
