COPY-SAVE A PROJECT TO ANOTHER LOCATION ON A PC!!

HI ALL,

WELL I M STUCK TO A VERY SIMPLE THING IN LSC , AND STILL UNABLE TO GET OUT OF IT.

I HAVE 8 PROJECTS, AND THEY ARE 90% IDENTICAL. FOR ALL THE 8 PROJECTS I M GOING TO USE LOGO8 FW: V1.82.01 , AND SOFTWARE I HAVE IS LSC8.1.

I HAVE MADE MY FIRST PROJECT,  AND NOW ALL I NEED IS COPY THAT PROJECT, MAKE SMALL CHANGES AND DOWNLOAD IT TO ANOTHER LOGO.

MY PROBLEM IS, WHEN I COPY AND PASTE IT TO ANOTHER LOCATION ON PC, AND IF I OPEN IT, IT HAS NOTHING IN IT, I MEAN PROJECT IS EMPTY.

SO ALL IN ALL IS, I AM UNABLE TO COPY THE PROJECT.

KINDLY LET ME KNOW THE PROCEDURE, HOW TO DO THIS SIMPLE THING.

First:
For the current LOGO! 8.2 (FW 1.82.01) you need LSC V8.2. Run LSC always as an administrator.

If you have a source project, open it and then save it with a different name.

Example:
Load project 1 in LSC and then save it under the name project 2.
Then save again as project 3 and so on.

SO WIL I HAVE TO UPGRADE IT TO LSCV8.2 FOR FULL FUNCTIONALITY?

I ALSO TRIED, AS YOU SAID.

Load project 1 in LSC and then save it under the name project 2.

STILL THE PROJECT IS EMPTY.

_{which procedure did you follow to open the copied file? sometimes the file does not  open properly when triggered from windows explorer. is the size of the copied project file the same as the original one? if yes: 1. open the application first 2. open the project file 3. results? if no: a. do a file save-as operation inside the application b. check file size again.}

a video will not help you. what is the size of the copied project file? the file might be in a locked state - logging out of your windows session may help for this.

please check the ownership of the file. right-click on the file in file explorer.

normal conditions shown in the above picture.

other idea is to copy the file in command prompt or powershell. robocopy is one built-in windows command that has many options to break through stubborn "windows is giving me problems with copying" issues. web search "powershell taking ownership" if the permissions shown above is the culprit.

having the latest version will not hurt your cause.

random thought - what happens if you ZIP the file and unzip it in another location?
