Couldn't esablish ethernet communication with CP 343-1ADVANCED IT

Dra_Be Advanced Member Joined: 1/5/2009 Last visit: 9/23/2022 Posts: 29 Rating: (1)	Hello Hulzhex, Yes, the first part is complete The PLC sending data to the server (I checked it with the wireshark), the server received data, but still waiting... the communication is only on the TCP protocol. Problem is maybe in the flags in the flags in IP protocol http://www.networksorcery.com/enp/protocol/ip.htm#Flags. If I tried send same data from other computer ¹⁾, the flags was 0x40, but data from the PLC ²⁾have flags 0x00. And the second thing is the "Timeto Live" value. From the PC is 128 and form the PLC is only 30. Have you got any idea? Thank you Dra_Be 1) In this issue the server send me corectly reply 2) In this issue the server send me empty message and waiting for other data

Well... but I better start with what I understood so far. The communication is running between a CP 343-1 Advanced and a PC. As transport media you use a TCP Connection, am I right so far? The Connection is established and you are able to send Data from the PLC to the PC. The other direction, from the PC to the PLC does not work. I hope Ifigured everything out so far. Would you mind now to tell us how big the receive buffer is you use in the PLC and how many bytes you transfer from the PC to the PLC? By the way… The PLC is not handling dynamic data sizes, so if you want to have dynamic sizes for the data to be received you need a Header in the telegram you are about to receive or you use static telegram sizes. I think this way we will figure out a way to solve this. Best regards J_Bell

PLC send query to the PC GET /test/test.php HTTP/1.1 Accept: text/plain Host: 10.0.0.2 PC receiving this data, but send back empty message, that is mean that PC send back only acknowledge message without data or header. If I tried send this same data from other PC to PC (with software Httper), the server send me back HTTP/1.1 200 OK etc. This is my problem... do you understand? The length ofbuffer form receiving is 182. If you have wireshark software I can show you log from the complete communication. Best regards Dra_Be

In access log from server isn't communication. The PC where is server reply to the PLC only 'I received data and waiting'. --------------------------- If I tried this same situation between two PC's everything was OK, PC received data and send it to the server. Server send me back reply 'I received data and here is reply: HTTP/1.1 200 OK, etc.'. J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Dra_Be, I think I know now what the problem is. You have a Apache HTTP Server running at your PC and you try to connect this Server to the PLC, don't you? This will not work. The HTTP Server starts HTTP Requests to the Advanced CP. The CP carries a HTTP Server by itself but this one only runs at Port 80, nowhere else. The HTTP Protocol is a high level protocol but the TCP Connection which is being used by the CP is only a Transport layer protocol. So the logical connection is being established, because both protocols are based on it, but the CP does not understand the HTTP requests by the Apache Server. The TCP/IP Connection which you configured is based upon RFC 793 and is surely not comparable with the HTTP Stack the Apache Server uses. I would strongly recommend to try to establish a Socket Connection from your PC to the PLC, this is the same type of connection. By the way, as you open a Receive buffer of 1000 Byte the CPU will not receive anything until these 1000 Bytes are filled. If you want to send something to the PLC please send exactly the size of Data you have configured in the Receive buffer, else wise you will not get the data. I hope I could make my point clear. J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Dra_Be, I would even say that you may not use the Apache at all. The CPU will not support HTTP requests at all. You are right the CPU has a build in HTTP Server... but only for diagnostics features with the CPU and a usual Browser... but not for the use with another HTTP Server. I fear you will have to find another way than to use the Apache Server you want to use. Best regards J_Bell
