I have a project that requires communication between 2 S7-1200 (1214 DC/DC/Rly) using CP 1243-7 LTE.

My first question is if Static IPs for both SIM cards is necessary?

Is there an example I can refer to? I didn't manage to find anything helpful... :-/

You can change CP 1243-1 to CP 1243-7 LTE without problem.

Yes, you will need a static IP addresses at both SIMs, you can use a direct example using OUC "open user communication" I used this at CP with GPRS and I didn't use it at LTE , but I think the same, check the LTE manual if it is supports OUC, this is a first option.

the second option is to use TCSB "Telecontrol server basic", which you can establish inter communication through the TCSB, in this case you will need a third SIM with static IP installed at a LTE mode, and you will need also to buy the TCSB v3.1 software, for the other two SIMs there is no need to have a static IP addresses.

So the SIM cards arrived and I have made my tests.

You need to put the following on the hardware configuration of the CP 1243-7 LTE:

Static IP, APN Name, Username and Password. Once you download them you can see the condition through "Online & Diagnostics". When you see that the CP has obtained the IP, you are ok! Very important to have decent signal.

After that you can exchange data simply by using PUT - GET or similar.
