CP 340-RS232C : 6ES7340-1AH02-0AE0 CP short for CP 340-RS232C Heidenhain :http://filebase.heidenhain.de/doku/oma_nd/Oma_Coun/ND/281B/en/35026721.pdf H1 short for Heidenhain ND 281B Q1: What kind of protocol am I supposed to select in HW of S7 ? ASCII or 3964R or what? Q2: Eventhough I setup the all needed programs come with CP, I am not success to recieve a data from H1 using sample programs. Thanks for advance. J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, I have to admit I have not really the idea, because I have never worked with this device, but I wonder if you saw anything after you sent the request to get the data to this Device. As far as I seein the Manualthey should use ASCII, but I am not sure. Another way would be to use a serial monitor, to check if anything is transferred from or to the CP 340 anyway. E.G. this is something easily found on the Internet: http://www.eltima.com/products/serial-port-monitor/ Best regards J_Bell

manassas Posts: 51 Rating: (0)	Hello, I guess I get the datainto CP 340(RSD blinks)from the device but I am not abletotransfer these data from CP 340to CPU. Is there any chance to be a problem withversion of CP 340(firmware V1.0)or CPU (firmware V2.0). Or do I need to use any other extra programs about changing parameter except the Simatic itself. J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hi, I guess the best help would bit at first to take a look on to the sample that is delivered with the configuration tool of the CP 340. To get this to work check this Document: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/12108826 There you will find a sample where you can see the send and the receive process within the application program. This shows you what you have to do to get the data from the CP to the CPU. Best regards J_Bell.
