I have a S7-300 PLC with the CP341 card.

Now we are going to communicate with a digital energy meter of Circutor.

so, which type of cable must i use? in the circutor device i have Two wire, half-duplex.

And for the program, i am using tia portal v15, so must i use the communication blocks, have you any simple example?

Thank you for your reply, i have read all these documentation, but i am a beginner on Modbus communication.

I don't know which bloc must i use for my case? and which communication to use?

The digital meter i have, it communicates with Modbus RTU, and on PLC i am using the CP 341; so must i use the blocs under the file Modbus RTU or the file CP 341, and the ASCII protocol or the Modbus Master?

The digital meter have only the function 03.

On my case, i have to read the voltage indicated on the meter, so i will use the P_RCV_RK bloc only??

Please help me to choose my configuration and establism my communication.

 I have looked how can Modbus work, and the example given on your last message, but before starting to adapt it for my case, i have seen that a software license is required, as well as the dongle of CP341.

On my case i have got only a CD with CP 341, which don't work with tia portal v15, no dongle.

So, can i work with modbus RTU without Dongle, and how??

These dongle, what contain exactly??

This dongle must be with CP341, or it must be ordered seperatly.

Because when i have ordered the CP 341 ref: 6ES7341-1CH02-0AE0, i have selected the licence modbus master ref: 6ES7870-1AA01-0YA1.

On the Tia Selection Tool, there was not an accessory named dongle, please tell me what is the reference of it?

Thanks to you, i have verified and i have found the they haven't ordered it. So, i'm looking for a solution without Dongle on this Forum. I am trying to migrate to TIA v15, but the problem of the version of step 7 is not appropriated exists always, even the step 7 is installed with TIA portal v15.
