KGI Posts: 64 Rating: (0)	I'm trying to make comm. with DeltaV profibus card with an S7 PLC over a CP 342-5 Profibus card (6GK7 342-5DA02-0XF0). In my hardware config this card has V5.0. On the card I can read V5.7. I have a simular config. that is working well. The only difference is that the card in the hardwareconfig is V4.0 and on the card I can read V5.1 In both cases the GSD file SIEM8093.GSD (V1.2 sx) is used. What is the problem?

Are you unable to connect the 2 systems? Which one has been set as slave? What data exchange areas have you setup between the master and the slave? KGI Posts: 64 Rating: (0)	Hello, The CP card is set as the slave, the DeltaV is the master. In the S7 program the two Siemens FC's (FC1 - DP_SEND, FC2 - DP_RCV) are running to run the communication. If a see the diagnostic of the card I see all the other slaves on the bus and also the CP-card. Still the red led is blinking on the CP-card. I also see "no communication" on the DeltaV side. Waiting for answer, thanks

I do not believe that versionmismatches should causemisbehavior of such modules. I will presume that you have compared both systems for any difference, including the function calls. You have copied both communication FCs in the CPUs program, so oit can call them (not only the function calls used inside the program)? In any case, is you have a blinking LED on the CP, the first step is to open the Diagnostic Buffer for that module, and any other that shows a Failure (Red Cross) icon in the online view of the HWConfig editor. Simply double-click on the faiiled module icons to open the diagnostic view to open the diagnostic buffer. The entries found there should give you an idea of the problem. In any case, look at the following FAQ, which is written to help setup a CP 342-5 as a DP slave to a non-S7 master (in this case, a S5 master). If it is unbalanced between the inputs and outputs I would strongly recommend using equal data sizes, maybe one byte or one word for inputs and outputs each. I have seen so many problems with unbalanced inputs / outputs... because the way to think of the data direction forboth is strange forpeople... Maybe this would already be a solution to get the system working. Best regards J_Bell
