Dear PLC-gurus,

I'm having a problem trying to configure communication between a CP342-5(mine) and a 400 CPU (customer side).

I'm used working with Profibus DP but last minute the customer requested I'd use FDL.

I changed the communication to an FDL link and matched all the parameters given by the customer such as PB adress and LSAP of both master and slave. I changed the DP_SEND and DP_RECV to the AG-versions

Now my CP342-5 seems to be dropping out of the logical token ring and gets entered again cyclically and there is no data being sent offcourse (at one moment the customer did receive my data but it almost instantly stopped so I'm guessing the configuration is correct for the biggest part).

The error code on my AG_SEND block is 8135, which seems to support the 'dropping out'

I've attached some pictures with more info.

Hello ramzinass;

You do not mention what partner you have on the S7-400 side. FDL would require a CP 443-5 (either Basic or Extended.

Here is a sample program with a CP 443-5 Basic, so you can compare with your own settings:

If you do not have a partner CP 443-5, I would suggest trying GET/PUT instructions between the S7-400 CPU and the CP 342-5; the following link shows where you can find the FB14/15 for the CP 342-5. GET/PUT can be used over Profibus, and require only an unspecified connection in Netpro, so there is no need to modify the S7-400 program or configuration.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the fast reply. All other machines here are communicating over FDL so I'm assuming there is an CP443-5 at the customer side.

I already stumbled upon the link you gave me but I only have acces to TIA portal at the moment, no Step7 so I can't open the file. (FYI, customer is using STEP7 and I'm using TIA portal)

I tested my own software myself by making a test program and programming a S7-300 CPU with CP342-5 as a master and this worked fine.

Could you check your Operating mode screenshot? It points out the the DP-master mode of your CP 342-5 is not active at the moment...
