CP 342-5 Weird Start up Behavior

Automation_Systems Posts: 58 Rating: (0)	Hi Everybody i hope you can help me I too many CP342-5 like twenty. All of them are installed in too many machines with the same characteristics. But the main problem is that frecuently the CPs start to fail. The error that present is that all the leds of the CP goes off. and after i power off and power up the cp initializa the firmware procedure the stop led blink for 10 seconds but after that period all the leds goes off, even when i try to set the selector to run or stop mode. All the CPs that presents this error has a weird way to get in run, the operator of the machine, made so many power off-on of the machine, and suddenly the CP goes to run again. Did you know what can be happen??? Sometimes the cps goes to run again, but the most of time the behavior of the CPis in the power on, the stop led flash ten seconds and the get off all the leds including the stop led Thanks a lot

If there is, can you take print screen from netpro or hwconfig. Have you checked from diagnostic module information,what it says about the stop cause? If you give more details so it´s easier to find out the problem. with best regards -Heksu-

Chilly_Garfield Posts: 316 Rating: (37)	Hi, Heksu Hi, Have you checked from diagnostic module information,what it says about the stop cause? If you give more details so it´s easier to find out the problem. Check this with the NCM tool. There you will find a very good diagnostic of the CPs.

Am I right, that you got a seperate power supply for the CP's? So you shut down the power of the CP's only and not from the hole station? If so, this is the reason for the behavior. Please have a look at this document: S7-CPs Manual/ Part B1 / Part Description of the CP 342-5 / CP 342-5 FO (Teil A siehe Beitrags-ID 1158693) capture 2 Table 2-1 document ...The CPU, CP and IM (if used) must be connected to the same power supply. ... good luck Sabine
