CP 343-1 Lean Low Speed Rx/Tx

Dear all,

There is a CPU 315-2DP and a CP343-1 Lean Connected to an a iba system (Data acquisition).

the update time according to iba client is 500ms. How to improve it? Do I need a faster CP card or use profibus DP port of CPU for Data acquisition?

There should be no problem to achieve 500ms.

maybe you can give us better info, you're Server in case you talk about IBA client? Can you pls post more info about IBA, what's that system? What kind of communication you're using? Maybe from that infos we can investigate next.

There are some other PLCs on this network. (Industrial switches (100MB), TCP/IP protocol). the update time for S7-400 is 25ms to maximum 100ms depanding on CPU cycle time.

The problem is some of digital I/Os updating every 70ms but the S7-300 update time is 500ms, so I cannot monitor them.

any Idea to improve the update time?

Although the post is a bit outdated, the black plane connection between the CPU and the CP is the bottle neck. It is just 187,5 kBit/s! So it doesn't matter if you use an external CP343-1 or the MPI interface, the performance is the same. The only way to have better performance with S7-300 CPU is using the internal Ethernet / PROFINET interface on the CPU.

If doing so, expect update cycle less 10ms.
