CP 441-1 TTY communication w/display problem

I want to send ASCII characters to an 7 segment display ( 7 numbers display TTY connection ASCII protocoll ), I have the protocol description but, I'm not sure about which configuration should I use. The questions are: 1-In Hardware Config , Should I use PRINTER or ASCII ? 2-Should I use PUT , BSEND or other as Comm block? 3-Always I get EXT FAULT in the CARD led, this is because I'm connecting the output current loop and leave unconnected the input loop?. The output loop is closed (I get 20ma by loop measurement) Attached you can find connection drawings it is OK? Thanks!! P.S: This is my first post Attachment CP441-TTY-DISPLAY.JPG (343 Downloads)

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello Nicolas, I do not know, did you read already the Manual: CP 441 Point-to-Point Commmunication Installation and Parameter Assignment There you find all answers to your questions. For example that you need the BSEND SFB to send data... how to diagnose the EXTF LED and so on. Personally I think you should use the ASCII Format but this depends on the display you use but I think the Printer information is not really useful in your case... but as said it depends. Have you spend a thought on using the STATUS SFB to figure out the Reason of the EXTF LED? Best regards J_Bell

NicolasCP Regular Member Joined: 6/30/2008 Last visit: 7/26/2022 Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	This was the solution - TTY Receive loop - should be closed even though, if you don't use it. - Protocol should be ASCII - and the "End ID of receive message frame" (in CP441 protocol configuration) should be "one" character, according to my protocol "0D". - BSEND block it's OK, manual address assignment or using NetPro (unspecified connection) works OK
