Hello experts,

I am using CP5611 card to communicate with s7-300 plc (cpu 312) over MPI network.

In PG/PC Interface,  I set configuration to CP5611(Auto) but could not detect the node. I then set it to CP5611(MPI), but it showed error:

when marked 'PG/PC only master on bus'.
Error 0x031b: Synchronization error (problems with the PROFIBUS network)

when unmarked 'PG/PC only master on bus'
Error 0x031a: No active PROFIBUS/MPI network found. If you want the CP of this PC to be the only active module (for example in DP master mode), the setting <PG/PC is the only master on bus> must be activated.  

However, hardware test is OK. Besides, I am also unable to flash LED because its button is disabled. Can we check LED flashing without any communication to PLC?

Hello,

from my history working with CP5611 is important correct functionality/system detection of CP under Win OS device manager. If this is ok without some errors/yellow mark, problem can be with not correct communication speed or CP Master node address. This must be on most cases 0. Also check also parameter about higher node address value. If you make test and check Test network, this test must find nodes, but with defined same speed as your PG/PC profile is set.

Thanks for response. I have checked in device manager, it's ok there. No yellow mark..

I've attched a picture, check it out.  Baude rate, address are also correct. everything seems to be ok.. 

The other question is why LED Flash button is disabled and can we check it offline?

what LED check button? Sry don't remember this function. Only what I was everytime testing was check nodes on bus and driver functionality. Give also Picture if it can be helpful, don't have now CP in my place.

Update: now probably understand your situation, you didn't specify what SW for programming you're using, hope not TIA portal, because it doesn't support CP5611 (hope I'm right because tested that).

Update2: Can you pls clearly post info, what is your role in this situation? You want program PLC via CP5611? Sry but you must post clear infos, your info that <I'm using CP5611 with...> is not clear now to me.

Well, I m using STEP7 software and OS Window XP.

Attached picture will tell you about LED flashing button.

Actually I want to upload a program from PLC which is communicating over MPI network.  I have communicated with the same PLC with MPI Adaptor and uploaded project. But when I use CP 5611 on my desktop PC it detects its hardware but can not communicate with PLC, it even doesn't detect.

Is it clear now?

ok thnx for info, understand now. Pls make test with Profibus connector with Male connection putted between your cable and PLC. Set resistor ON. Try connect to PLC. Better can be if you have cable with Profibus connectors on both sides and with one resistor set to ON, simply try connect to PLC with this cable where you can set one resistor to ON. This can be solution, because this problem I had also. You can set that checkbox PLC is only master on bus with address 0 or disable, make tests.
