CP 5611 PG M3 - unable to open port, always used by other application

Kicco Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Good morning all, in my PG M3 (09/2012) I can't use CP 5611 'cause everytime I try to open it i get a message saying:"unable to open port, or port used by another application" (when using Microwin 4.0 SP9). When I try to manage it from PC/PG interface settings, can not change any setting because everything is disabled (gray). I tried to disable and to uninstall 5611, but nothing happens. Do you think there is any entry in system register that tells if port is in use or not? Have you ever faced a problem like this? Thanks a lot, bye. Kicco O. Kicco Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	thanks Christoph: Yes, my OS is win7 ultimate 64 bit SP1, and I'm sure my user is in that Group because I had to fix other problems with SQLServer/WinccFlexible etc. etc.. It worked fine but two weeks ago it stopped and from that time I get the message of subject.

I have Simatic Step7 and Simatic S7/MicroWIN installed on my laptop. So until in PG/PC Interface CP5612 was assigned to STEP7 i could not connect to S7-200 PLC's with MicroWIN because i allways got that error: unable to open port ....... . So each time i do somethng with MicroWIN i make sure tha CP5612 is not assigned to STEP7.
