Dear Experts,
I need help, I have communicate PC(OPC server software) to S5 (CPU 115U with 2-CP143 card),Is it possible to setup communication without doing too much on s5 side.Beacuse pressenly s5 already communicating with CEMAT PC station, so I think If I add one more PC (OPC server) station, then PC itself can send/receive data(ACTIVE) to/from S5 CP143.What should I change in CP143 COMM data base? one for FETCH(Passive) and one for RECEIVE(Passive) job numberis sufficientto establish the communication or still I need to call SEND and RECEIVE FB for each job? In the S5 program SEND-all,RECEICE-ALL already exist.Please advice...

About S5 side: Yes you must new number job in CP143 COMM linked with new address of PC station. After that, in S5 program you must define new FETCH and RECEIVE blocks which correspond to number's job, of course maybe with defferent data area (other Data Block). That means the SEND-ALL and RECEIVE-ALL is not sufficient for this type of communication.I must call Fetch and Receive block with corresponding job no., right?

Let's start from the beginning.... You have one CP with established communication. Now you add another CP and want to make comunication with OPC. And now, if you use first CP , you don't need to touch send/ receive all block. Just add job number and... (in previous my post). if you want touse second CP you must build everythink - put job, add address in COM data base, after that build in step 5 plc , synchronized this CP, maka send - receive block and make new send- receive all, becouse you'll see in manual SSNR parameter is defferent. ( The base interface number (SSNR) specifies the CP in the rack. This interface number has to be used in the block calls in the S5 program.)

Thanks for reply, I got more clear undarstanding after reading both of your last posts.Actually this is my Idea not to do too much programming on S5 side.Then I undarstand from you and others posts If I use FETCH and RECEIVE with Priority=2,Read/Write=J then it is possible to read any Memory,I/O,Data Block of S5 PLC from OPC server(PC SCADA station) and Also possible to write Values into s5 PLC memory,I/O,DB from OPC(PC SCADA stn.).(in s5 system both 2 CPs are already programmed and communicating with other PLCs and SCADA(CEMAT) station.So I think in both case I need only to add two ( FETCH & RECEIVE) job no(ANR) into EPROM.---upto this I hope I am clear.but..

Should I give remote (PC) MAC address in EPROM ?(We are using Woodhear PCI2000ETH card in the PC)..
