CP1613 - Fiile Browing

Nil96 Posts: 325 Rating: (14)	Hi, I have been using CP1613 in PCS7 Project. This card is working fine when used in PC7 project. I am able to send & receive data via CP1613 to the PCS7 CPU. But the only problem is, I am unable to browse any Computers/Files from the CP1613 card. Need some help plz!!!!! Regards Nil

Nil96 Posts: 325 Rating: (14)	Hi, To my above post, I would like to add the following: I have the server with CP1613 and a normal machine with inbuilt LAN card connected thru a swtich. First of all when I connect the CP1613 to the switch, the Local Area Connection shows as disconnected. At the same time, I am able to ping the server(cp1613) from the other machine. But when I try to ping the other machine from the server(cp1613), it says Hardware Error. Regards Nil

GrzegorzG Posts: 63 Rating: (19)	If you want to use CP1613 as standard network adapter for you PC you have to install additional software package called NDIS 1613. It can be found on the Simatic Net CD. Installation instructions can be found here.

Nil96 Posts: 325 Rating: (14)	Hi GrzegorzG, I think NDIS was not installed. The same was installed and I was able to browse the network successfully. Thanx a lot. More over if CP1613 & Lan card of server are connected to same switch, would it create any problem in the network?? Regards Nil

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, I think it should not harm your system, at least as long as you either have two different IP Subnets in use or you do not use both for PC Networking. In case you do use both in PC Networking the problem might be that the PCmay have to choose which NIC is being used, this may influence the performance of the CP 1613 in connecting to the CP's of your PCS7 system.
